第十二单元阅读课说课稿

I. TEACHING MATERIAL ANALYSIS(教材分析)
1. TEACHING ITEMS: (教学内容)
1. A BIRDVIEW OF THE WHOLE UNIT (鸟瞰本单元)
本单元的中心话题是“教育”,课文围绕全民教育及如何学习展开,让人感受教育与学习的重要性。语言技能和语言知识都是依据“教育”这一中心话题设计的。本单元有助于学生培养良好的英语学习习惯,充分发挥自己的学习潜能,形成有效的学习策略,提高自主学习的能力;同时还有利于培养学生的跨文化交际意识,为终身学习奠定良好的基础。
本单元分为热身(Warming up),听力(Listening),口语(Speaking),阅读(Reading),语言训练 (Language practice) 和综合技能 (Integrating skills) 六部分。“热身”部分由四幅图和三个练习组成。通过交流讨论信息,对图中四位教育家的思想、实践和卓越贡献有所了解,为本单元的教学做好铺垫。“听力”部分的录音是一段对话,内容贴近生活,语言生动有趣,向学生介绍了中国与美国教学方式的差别。“口语”部分则要求学生围绕“中国的教育”这个话题展开讨论。在经过了以上教学的铺垫之后,学生进入“阅读”课的学习。“语言训练”由五道练习题组成。最后的“综合技能”部分包含一篇有关学习方法的文章和一道写作题目。
2. ABOUT THIS PERIOD本课教学内容
本次课的教学内容是“阅读” 部分的一篇文章理解,题目是“全民教育”(Education for all)。这是一篇以教育为话题的介绍中国普及九年义务教育的记叙文。文中介绍了中国教育所面临的问题和取得的成就,使同学们对中国改革开放以来所取得的成就有进一步的了解。笔者通过本课的教学培养学生理解此类文章的能力,同时引导学生对本地教育中存在的问题进行思考和讨论,并对教育中存在的不公正现象进行批评,树立正确的人生观,从而在更深层次上理解本文。
3. PREPARATIONS课前准备(即教材处理)
本单元分为热身(Warming up),听力(Listening),口语(Speaking),阅读(Reading),语言学习 (Language study) 和综合技能 (Integrating skills) 六部分。在本节课前,笔者已将热身、听力、综合技能和部分课后练习整合为一节课的教学内容,要求学生对“阅读”课进行了预习,从而为本节课的阅读及综合练习做好了准备。

2. AIMS TO THE TEACHING教学目标
★Knowledge goals知识目标
a. Help the Ss understand the main idea of the text. 帮助学生理解文章主要内容。
b. Let the Ss learn some important words and expressions. 让学生学到重点词汇。
Words: compulsory; commitment ; skeptical; drop out ; donate; curriculum

★Ability goals能力目标
a. Train Ss’ ability of getting the general idea through fast reading. 训练学生通过快速阅读获得文章大意的能力。
b. Train Ss’ ability of guessing the meanings of the new words according to the context. 训练学生根据上下文猜测词义的能力。
c. Train Ss’ ability of expressing their opinions after discussion: 训练学生经过讨论活动后表达自己观点的口语能力。

★Emotion goals情感目标
By reading the text,the students get a general understanding of the present situation of education in China and other countries, and will be aware of the importance of education. 通过阅读本文,使学生大致了解中国乃至世界各国的教育现状,意识到教育的重要性和“全民教育”计划的必要性。

3. TEACHING IMPORTANT POINTS教学重点
1. Get the Ss to do fast reading and careful reading efficiently and effectively. 让学生有效完成快速阅读和精读任务。
2. Get the Ss to guess the meanings of the new words according to the context. 让学生根据上下文猜测词义。
4. TEACHING DIFFICULT POINTS 教学难点
1. Help Ss express their own opinions. 帮助学生得以表达自己的观点。
2. Help Ss finish the task of reading in time. 帮助学生在规定时间内完成阅读任务。

II. ANALYSIS OF THE TEACHING METHODS AND AID. 教法分析和教学工具
As we all know, the main instructional aims of learning English in middle school is to cultivate Ss’ basic abilities of listening, speaking, reading, writing and their good sense of English. In order to finish the teaching goals above, I’ll mainly use “Task-based Language Teaching Method”. To make the class a student-centered one, the students are encouraged to work in groups, so they have more opportunities to practice. Teacher acts as an organizer, a listener and a helper. I will assign the tasks according to the students’ level and let Ss learn step by step. I’ll help the Ss to get a better understanding of the text and enlarge the Ss’ range of knowledge, train their studying interests, and improve their abilities of using English.
Aid is multi-media computer, which can open the Ss’ wide fields of vision and enlarge the capacity of lesson.
我们都知道中学英语教学的目标是开发学生听、说、读、写的能力,培养语言意识。为了完成以上教学目标,我将主要使用任务型教学法。建立以学生为中心的课堂,我将鼓励学生以小组为单位完成任务活动,以获得更多的练习机会。教师作为一名组织者、倾听者和提供帮助的人。我将会根据学生的水平设计任务,引导他们由浅入深地学习。我将力使学生正确理解课文,拓宽知识面,培养他们的学习兴趣,提高他们的英语能力。
辅助教学的工具为多媒体电脑,有助于扩大课堂知识容量。
III. ANALYSIS OF THE LEARNING METHODS学法分析
(1) Guide Ss to master and use reading skills, skimming, scanning and careful reading, and master
student-centered vocabulary learning method by the context, text clues and their word knowledge;
引导学生应用阅读技能(泛读与精读),通过阅读上下文,寻找课文线索和运用自身知识,掌握以学生为中心的词汇学习能力。
(2) Guide Ss to study English cooperatively. It contains pair and group work. They can make a
discussion and learn from each other. It can arouse students to think and to say what they want to. Study becomes more relaxed and pleased in this kind of environment.
引导学生合作学习(通过双人活动和小组活动)。他们通过讨论来互相学习,由此激发表达自我观点的欲望。在这种氛围中学生也能感受到学习的乐趣。

Step 2 Fast reading for general ideas 快速阅读
Task: Choose the best heading for each paragraph.
任务:将所给的段落大意与相应的段落连线。
Purpose:fast reading for general idea.
目的:训练学生通过快速阅读获得文章大意的能力
Ask students to read the passage “Education for all” and match the best heading for each paragraph in the text.
Suggested answers:

D Solving the problem of teaching quality in remote areas
A Compulsory education for all Chinese children

Step 3 Word Study 猜测词义
Task: Do multiple choices to guess the meanings of some words.
任务:做单选题猜测文中部分生词词义。
Purpose: train Ss’ ability of guessing the meanings of the new words according to the context.
目的:训练学生根据上下文猜测词义的能力

Step 5 Discussion 讨论
Task: Express your opinions on the question “Are there any ways in which education in Wuhan could be improved?” (group work)
任务:讨论并发表你的看法:“你认为武汉市的教育在哪些方面需要改进?” (小组活动)
Purpose: Train Ss’ speaking ability by means of discussion work.
目的:以讨论的形式训练学生的表达能力。
Topic: “Are there any ways in which education in Wuhan could be improved?”
Encourage students to list the problems of education in Wuhan and solutions.

Step 6 Homework 作业
Task:Write a short passage based on their discussion.
任务:把你的观点述诸文字。
Purpose: Writing practice.
目的:要求学生将观点以文字的形式表现出来,在语言的准确性上提出更高的要求。
